Worthy Life Award

Worthy Life or Faith Recognition Awards

The most important special award within the Trail Life USA program centers on faith. Requirements are different for different age groups.

Worthy Life Award

The Worthy Life or Faith Recognitions Award is one of only two awards that continue to be worn by the Trailman as long as he is a member of Trail Life USA.

Requirements fall under 4 main faith activities:

• A Devotional Activity

• A Discipleship Activity

• Several Discipline Activities

• A Demonstration Activity

Crosses for the the Worthy Life Award are awarded at each program level on completion of the Worthy Life Award requirements, with the first cross presented along with the Worthy Life Award itself.

A Woodlands Trail Trailman can earn up to three crosses in his 6 program years. These crosses adorn the green ribbon. A fully-adorned Worthy Life Award will have 3 crosses on the green Woodlands Trail ribbon, one cross on the gray Navigators ribbon, and one cross on the blue Adventurers ribbon.

Faith-Building Awards

Other Faith-Building Awards and activity options accepted by Trail Life USA fall under the Worthy Life Award Structure. For example, an MCCS (Member of Church of Christ for Scouting) religious recognition award will now serve to complete the Devotional Activity and possibly some of the Discipline Activities; the Band of Brothers program will serve to complete the Discipleship Activity and possibly the Devotional Activity as well as some of the Discipline Activities. This allows each Charter Organization and Troop to use its preferred Devotional materials and Discipleship structures in order to complete the Worthy Life Award.
